Camp Sister Spirit

I recently visited my parents’ home in Florida and was blown away with a gorgeous new fireplace that they had purchased.  They had it in their living room, which, in the past had no fireplace.  Their unit was not your original wood-burning fireplace with a mantel.  It was actually a gorgeous piece of furniture that contained an electric fireplace.  It was absolutely stunning!

Their “fireplace” was really an electric fireplace entertainment center!  It was made of a beautiful cherry, rich wood.  It was a large piece with a good deal of height and surrounding the fireplace itself was an entertainment center.  It was perfect for placing their 60-inch flatscreen television on top and had room for their blueray player and other electronic equipment. 

When turned on, the fireplace itself wonderfully resembled a real fireplace.  And, it generated a warmth that was fantastic…especially in these cold weather months.  The great part is, the fireplace can be turned on for ambience – even without the heat – so it can be turned on to create a warm, cozy environment, regardless of the time of year!

My mom is never wrong. Even when she does wrong, she never admits it. In her eyes, I am always the bad guy, someone she cannot be bothered with or contend with on any scale. It really annoys me.

We got into a huge argument today about something so minor. I only wanted to calmly address a small concern, but she had to abruptly cut me off and state she did not want to hear anything I had to say. Naturally, this angered me, I got upset, and the things blew out of proportion.

To make myself feel better, I went out and blew some money on a wine refrigerator. I need that to store my wine and keep it cold. The wine will come in handy when I want to relax – either by myself, or with friends – and just get away from it all. I will feel so much better then and not have to think about anything.
